Available Air Ride Adaptive Suspension incorporates air springs that allow you to raise and lower the height of the vehicle to suit different driving conditions.
How to raise and lower your vehicle with Air Ride Adaptive Suspension (if equipped)
1. First, locate the Ride Height Controls in your vehicle.
a. Some models will have a selector knob and a button, while others will have separate buttons for raising and lowering the vehicle or a dial located on the center console.
2. To use the Ride Height Controls:
a. On models with a selector knob, press the button on the knob to open the Ride Height menu in your Driver Information Center (DIC). Turn the knob to the right or left to highlight a ride height, and press the button to select it.
b. If your vehicle has separate buttons for raising or lowering the vehicle, press either of those buttons to open the menu, then use them to select the desired ride height.
3. Depending on your vehicle, you can select the following available ride heights:
a. Entry/Exit Height: Lowers your vehicle to make it easier to get in and out of.
b. Normal Height
c. Increased Ground Clearance: Higher than Normal Height. On most vehicles, if you select Off-Road or Terrain Mode using the Driver Mode Selector, your vehicle will automatically raise to this height.
i. Available on all 4WD vehicles with Air Ride Adaptive Suspension.
d. Maximum Ground Clearance: 2 inches higher than Normal Height (full-size SUVs only).
i. Available on 4WD vehicles with 4LOW except the GMC HUMMER EV. Maximum Ground Clearance is only available in 4LOW mode.
e. Lowered Ground Clearance:
i. Available on select full-size SUV models, this height lowers the vehicle for better handling and performance. When selected, the vehicle will maintain this height at all speeds. This height is automatically enabled when V-Mode is enabled.
Automatic Entry and Exit
- Your vehicle can automatically lower when you place it in PARK to make it easier to get in and out.
- To enable this, go to your vehicle Settings menu on your infotainment screen and enable “Easy Exit.”
- This feature is disabled when you raise your vehicle above Normal Height, when your vehicle is in Off-Road, Terrain or Tow/Haul modes, or if you have a trailer attached.
