In addition to providing storage, the eTrunk includes an auxiliary power outlet. (The type of outlet may vary depending on your vehicle).

2. Get out of the vehicle and lift the hood open.
To close the hood after accessing it in either of the methods above, push on it with a steady downward motion. The latch will pull the hood fully closed (on MY24 and later vehicles). Keep hands and fingers clear.
If the hood is left open for 10 minutes or more, the power latching feature will turn off. Resume power latch operation by fully closing the hood as described above or pushing one of the buttons for eTrunk™ operation.
Hood Open Alert
When the eTrunk™ is not latched, a message will display on the Driver Information Center (DIC) and the vehicle will not be able to shift out of PARK.
If emergency circumstances require you to move the vehicle, you can override this function. Press the brake pedal until the DIC displays the message “shifter unlock complete.” The vehicle speed will be limited to 26 mph when the eTrunk™ is not completely latched.

- To close, pull the hood down until a chime sounds, then let go. The hood will continue to lower automatically until fully closed.
Operate the Emergency Hood Release Button Inside eTrunk
Inside your eTrunk is an emergency hood release button. The button will glow following exposure to light. If the vehicle is in motion when the button is pressed, the vehicle speed will be limited to 26 mph. Once the speed reaches 26 mph or lower, the power latch will release but the hood won’t open fully. If the vehicle is stopped or moving at less than 2 mph when the button is pressed a second time, the hood will fully release.
The emergency hood release button will not function when the battery is disconnected or depleted.
MPORTANT: To avoid personal injury or death, always keep the hood fully closed and latched when storing the vehicle. Do not leave the vehicle unattended when the hood is open. Never allow anyone, whether adults or children, to climb inside the eTrunk.™
