With 2023 on the horizon, Chevrolet Performance has much to celebrate from the past 365 days.
With 2023 on the horizon, Chevrolet Performance has much to celebrate from the past 365 days.
Shows like the Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals presented by PPG in Columbus, Ohio, drew massive crowds this year.
Throughout all of 2022, car shows and other automotive programs were as popular as ever, with crowds attending events like Goodguys Rod & Custom Association shows, LS Fest, the PRI Trade Show and thousands of local programs and races in droves. At each one, the support for the Bowtie Brand was ever-present.
Crate engine* restomod builds, full-blown competition vehicles and period-correct restorations dotted each event where owners, builders and racers were eager to tell their stories.
The 2023 COPO Camaro features a 632 cu-in. Big-Block engine option.
In addition, this year Chevrolet Performance launched products that sent a buzz across the aftermarket. Among the notables were the 2023 COPO Camaro and the L8T crate engine.*
The 2023 COPO was introduced with a naturally aspirated 632 cu.-in. Big-Block engine option for the first time. However, both the supercharged 350 and naturally aspirated 427 remain available for the COPO, meaning there is a power plant for every racer or collector. The limited-edition, purpose-built race car is available now.
The L8T crate engine* features lots of low-rpm torque.
Meanwhile, the massive 6.6L L8T crate engine* is the largest-displacement engine offered in the LT family and is the same one found under the hood of the 2023 Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD. Featuring plenty of low-rpm grunt, the L8T is rated at 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-ft. of torque.
Our 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville project known as "Rosie" is built to drive and features an LT4†E-ROD Connect & Cruise Crate Powertrain System.
Here at The BLOCK, we also utilized Chevrolet Performance components for our latest build – a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville two-door coupe named "Rosie." The car utilizes a Connect & Cruise Crate Powertrain System featuring an LT4 E-ROD crate engine†mated to a SuperMatic 10L90-E 10-speed automatic transmission. The Caddy is meant to inspire driving, and the LT4 E-ROD is emissions legal in 1995 and earlier vehicles and has been granted an official CARB E.O. number, making it legal for driving in all 50 states.
Recently, we've been driving the car alongside our friends at Mobil 1 on Route 66 as part of their "Keep Route 66 Kickin'" campaign. Next year Rosie will continue to hit the road and attend more shows across the country.
Brittany Force drove her Chevrolet Top Fuel dragster to her second championship in 2022.
Finally, the Bowtie dominated once again on the racetrack. Among the 2022 Team Chevy highlights were NHRA Top Fuel and Pro Stock championships for Brittany Force and Erica Enders, respectively. Will Power also scored the title in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, while Chevrolet won manufacturers' championships in NHRA, INDYCAR, and both the NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series.
We're proud to have been on-site at many events, and every year we love looking back at all of the cool people and vehicles we had the privilege to cover.
Today, we celebrate a successful 2022, and we can't wait to see what happens as the calendar rolls over to 2023.
Be sure to watch The BLOCK for extensive coverage of Chevrolet Performance vehicles, parts and racing all year long.

†Chevy Performance E-ROD engines have been granted CARB Executive Orders, which allows for their installation on specific emission-controlled vehicles to be driven on public streets and highways. An exemption is granted if the product has been determined not to cause an increase in vehicle emissions from the production vehicles for which the part is intended, nor otherwise cause vehicles to be non-compliant with the vehicle emissions certification and anti-tampering laws.
