Team Chevy driver Kyle Larson turned Homestead-Miami Speedway into his personal playground on Sunday, leading 199 laps en route to the checkered flag in the NASCAR Cup Series Dixie Vodka 400.

Larson started from the fifth position in his No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Camaro ZL1 and took the lead for the first time on Lap 27. He proceeded to run the extreme high line of the 1.5-mile oval in South Florida – often just inches from the wall – as he opened up a massive gap to second place. He won both of the race's first and second stages, but was forced to give up the lead when the yellow flag flew on Lap 212 during a cycle of pit stops.

Larson worked his way back to the front and took the top spot for the final time on Lap 246 during the race's final caution period. He cruised to the victory when the green flag was displayed, taking his first win at the track by 1.261 seconds.

The victory was Larson's third of the year and the 19th of his Cup Series career, all have come in a Chevrolet.

"Definitely the best run we've had all year long," said Larson, the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion. "We've been capable of it I feel like many weekends, we just haven't quite put it all together. Cliff [Daniels, crew chief] gave a great speech this morning and got us all ready to go and focused, and I did my best to keep it out of the wall. I got in the wall a few times, but I could still make speed doing that."

Although Larson has been eliminated from defending his NASCAR Cup Series drivers' championship title; with the win, he and his No. 5 team locked themselves into contention for the owners' championship at Phoenix Raceway in two weeks. 

"We're still technically not out of it," Larson said. "I can't win the championship, but it means more to me to win it as a team. We're going to go to Phoenix and try to get another championship."

Larson's win was the 19th for Chevrolet in the Cup Series this season, matching the manufacturer's win total from 2021 and extending its series lead this year. The victory was the seventh Cup triumph for Chevrolet at Homestead-Miami Speedway and its 833rd overall in NASCAR's premier series.

Chevrolet drivers also swept the top-four finishing positions on Sunday, with each one coming from a different organization. Following Larson across the line were Trackhouse Racing's Ross Chastain in second, Kaulig Racing's AJ Allmendinger in third and Richard Childress Racing's Austin Dillon in the fourth spot. In addition, Trackhouse's Daniel Suarez finished 10th to give the Bowtie five of the top-10 in the final running order.

Additionally, with just one race left in the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, all three of the Team Chevy drivers still in contention are above the cutline. Chastain sits in the second position in the standings, while Hendrick Motorsports drivers Chase Elliott and William Byron are third and fourth, respectively. Next week at Martinsville Speedway, the top four in the standings will advance to contend for the title at Phoenix.

From its drivers' prowess behind the wheel, to its teams' preparation and execution on pit road, Chevrolet is clicking in all areas as this year's title fights reach their conclusion.
