The desert and a vintage Chevy Blazer just go together. Even better is when the vehicle is a restomod build featuring a modern LT engine. That's just what we found in Lance Fisher's 1971 K5 Blazer CST during the recent Goodguys event in Scottsdale, Arizona.

During the final morning of the Speedway Motors Southwest Nationals, Fisher's Okra-colored Blazer stood out among a wide variety of gorgeous cars and trucks on the WestWorld of Scottsdale grounds. Under the Blazer's hood is an LT engine from a 2017 Tahoe – a power plant that Fisher knows well.

"I had familiarity, I actually also own a 2017 Tahoe and I've had many Silverados that had that engine," he said. "I noted that LT has a lot of capability to be built and handle a lot of horsepower without doing anything to the bottom end. So, it's a very stout, solid engine to begin with."

Fisher's first vehicle was a 1989 K5 Blazer, thus inspiring his nostalgia for them. His goal with the '71 model was to create a stock-looking build, but with subtle details that can only be seen up close.
