During the NHRA Midwest Nationals at WWT Raceway, Team Chevy drivers Robert Hight and Erica Enders continued their 2022 dominance in the Camping World Drag Racing Series, while Brittany Force made history.

Robert Hight drove his Camaro SS to his eighth Funny Car win of the year at the NHRA Midwest Nationals.

Hight was the class of the Funny Car field from start to finish over the weekend at the drag strip in Madison, Illinois, just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis. He qualified his John Force Racing (JFR) Camaro SS No. 1, and then turned in four consistent passes during Sunday eliminations to take his eighth win of the season, 61st of his career and the 300th overall for JFR.  It was also the 155th Funny Car victory for Chevrolet since 1967 and the 75th with the Camaro body.

In the final round, Hight made a 3.911-second pass at 331.61 mph, paired with a .041-second reaction time to better his opponent and win on a holeshot.

"You definitely can't be racing defensively, you have to be on the offensive, have to be pushing it to the edge every round, every run, and I really feel I have the best guys in my corner to do that," Hight said. "Every weekend the competition gets tougher and tougher, every round is important and huge. This AAA Missouri team, they just keep digging."

Hight left St. Louis with a 46-point advantage in the NHRA Countdown to the Championship as he looks to win his fourth Funny Car title. His Funny Car teammate, 16-time champion John Force, also had a strong showing in the Midwest Nationals, advancing to the semifinal round.

Brittany Force reached a record speed of 338.43 mph in her Chevrolet Top Fuel dragster on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Brittany Force broke her own Top Fuel national speed record in her JFR Chevrolet dragster during the first round of eliminations. She turned in a pass reaching an incredible speed of 338.43 mph as she defeated teammate Austin Prock. Force now owns the top-10 speed records all-time in the Top Fuel category. She went on to bow out in the event quarterfinals.

In the Pro Stock ranks, four-time champion Erica Enders came out on top of an all-Camaro SS final round. The Elite Motorsports driver bested KB Racing's Dallas Glenn to take her 41st career victory and eighth of the season.

In the final, Enders turned in a 6.535-second pass at 210.28 mph as Glenn went red.

The win was Enders' sixth at the track and her fourth in a row at the St. Louis-area facility. With the victory, she extended her points lead to 120 markers and improved her elimination-round record to 44-8 this season.

"This is definitely a really fun ride," Enders said. "We started off the season with the attitude that we weren't going to take any crap from anybody, and my guys have done just that, and I've done my best to do that in the cockpit. We're super stoked to be parking this Melling Performance Camaro in the winner's circle at St. Louis for the umpteenth time."

As the Countdown reaches its halfway point, Team Chevy now has multiple championship trophies squarely in its sights.
