The father-and-son duo of Dan and Andy Traeger are dyed-in-the-wool Chevrolet fans who have a long family history with the Bowtie Brand. They are also neighbors who recently built an LS-powered 1970 Chevy Nova in tandem.

The pair hails from Bloomington, Illinois, where they have spent years at the helm of GM dealerships. They have worked on multiple projects in their shop together as well, and for this year's Holley LS Fest East, they brought their Hugger Orange Nova to Bowling Green, Kentucky's Beech Bend Park.

In addition to the famous orange paint, the car features a 1969 Yenko stripe kit. Andy Traeger says the goal of the build was for it to look as if it might have appeared in a high school parking lot in 1975.

However, there is one notable difference under the hood.

The Traegers originally intended for the Nova to be a Big-Block car, but instead, they chose to LS swap the classic Chevy with an LS6 power plant from a 2004 Cadillac CTS-V.

"This thing's a fuel-injected car, you hit the key and it just fires up," Dan Traeger said. "The computer just makes the car run right … It's reliable."

The car's modern power plant, which blends seamlessly into the Nova's classic style, made this one of the most interesting and eye-catching builds in all of Bowling Green.

Today we've made the gorgeous Nova into a wallpaper download. High-resolution desktop and mobile options are available below.
