Kyle Busch put Team Chevy in Victory Lane on Sunday after surviving two overtime restarts in the NASCAR Cup Series GEICO 500 at the always-unpredictable Talladega Superspeedway.

Busch qualified 17th and led a total of just three laps on the massive 2.66-mile Alabama track, but he kept the nose of his Richard Childress Racing No. 8 Camaro ZL1 clean throughout the day as the field ran two- and three-wide.

A yellow flag on Lap 185 forced the race into overtime, with another quick yellow coming during the race's first overtime attempt. While some competitors pitted for fuel during the ensuing caution period, Busch elected to stay on track, positioning him third for the second overtime restart.

Busch inherited the lead when the first- and second-place cars made contact during the white-flag lap, bringing out the yellow flag once again and scoring Busch as the winner.

The win was Busch's second of the season, his second at Talladega and the 62nd of his storied Cup Series career.

In addition, the two-time champion has immediately added to RCR's legacy in just his first few months with the organization.

"I know they've had a lot of superspeedway love for a long, long time," Busch said of his team. "One of the best to ever do it was obviously one of the winningest ones. It's fun to be able to come out here and be a part of this team and work with Randall (Burnett, crew chief) and all my guys. Pit stops today were fine. We were never really in a position to push hard, but we got everything to go our way and came out on top."

Busch's victory was the 44th for Chevrolet at Talladega, extending its Cup Series record among all manufacturers. The win was also the Bowtie's seventh in 10 points-paying races in 2023 and its 840th NASCAR premier series win overall.

A total of four Team Chevy drivers came home in the top-10 at Talladega, with Erik Jones finishing sixth, William Byron seventh and Daniel Suarez ninth.

Chevrolet also swept the weekend with Jeb Burton taking the NASCAR Xfinity Series win on Saturday for Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport in the team's No. 27 Camaro SS. It was the first win for the organization.

And on the Cup Side, Chevrolet has now won the last five superspeedway races with five different drivers. That's just further proof of the Bowtie depth throughout the field.
