After a marathon day at World Wide Technology Raceway near St. Louis, Team Chevy driver Kyle Busch claimed his third NASCAR Cup Series victory of the year.

Kyle Busch scored his 63rd NASCAR Cup Series victory at WWT Raceway driving a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Busch qualified his Richard Childress Racing No. 8 Camaro ZL1 on the pole for the Enjoy Illinois 300 and showed strength early on the 1.25-mile oval in Madison, Illinois. However, lightning strikes in the race's opening laps put the event under a lengthy red flag. When the race resumed, Busch went on to win Stage One and finished second in Stage Two.

He took the lead for the final time on Lap 184 with a pass on fellow Chevrolet driver Kyle Larson, then survived five late-race restarts and an overtime finish to claim the victory by 0.517 seconds over second place.

The victory was the 63rd of Busch's career.

Busch celebrates with his Richard Childress Racing team in Victory Lane.

"That was pretty awesome," said Busch, who led a race-high 121 laps. "Man, to sit on the pole, lead a lot of laps and have my guys do such a great job today was pretty phenomenal for us. Great for RCR. Just win, baby!"

Busch's victory was the series-leading ninth for Chevrolet in 2023 and extended the Bowtie's record win total to 842 overall in NASCAR's premier series.

In addition, Busch's three wins on the season moved him into a tie with Team Chevy driver William Byron for the 2023 Cup Series lead.

Daniel Suarez finished seventh for Trackhouse Racing.

Four Chevrolet drivers scored top-10 results at WWT Raceway, with Larson finishing fourth, Daniel Suarez seventh and Byron eighth.

Chevrolet also swept the St. Louis weekend with Grant Enfinger driving his GMS Racing No. 23 Chevrolet Silverado RST to the win in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Saturday.

Busch has won three races for RCR already this season.

And on the Cup side, as the season nears its halfway mark, Kyle Busch and his RCR team look to be in championship form.
