Team Chevy driver William Byron celebrates after scoring his fifth career NASCAR Cup Series victory on Sunday.
Byron qualified second in his No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Camaro ZL1 and quickly jumped into the lead, winning the first two stages on the 1.5-mile oval just north of the Las Vegas Strip. But as the race wound down, Byron's Hendrick teammate Kyle Larson had moved into the top spot and looked destined for victory.
However, the caution flag waved on Lap 265, setting up a two-lap overtime finish. The majority of the field made pit stops and Byron's crew positioned him to restart on the front row. With two fresh right-side tires, Byron leapt out in front and ultimately took the checkered flag by 0.622 seconds over Larson.

The win was the fifth of Byron's career, his first of the season, and the third for Chevrolet through the first three points-paying races of the 2023 Cup Series calendar.
"I've been really confident about this group of guys on the 24 team," said Byron, who led a race-high 176 laps. "They work extremely hard. We spent a lot of time in the offseason just going through and running at the sim with Chevy and running on iRacing and just trying to get better as a race car driver and as a team. It's all about the team. It's a great pit crew."
With Byron's victory, Team Chevy has now won 11 Cup Series races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and four of the last six at the track. The win was also the 836th all-time for Chevrolet in NASCAR's premier series.
Hendrick Motorsports teammates Byron and Kyle Larson finished 1-2 in Las Vegas.
On Sunday, Chevrolet earned the top-three finishing positions for the second week in a row. Behind Byron and Larson, Alex Bowman came home third to give Hendrick Motorsports a sweep of the top-three. Additionally, Justin Haley finished eighth and Daniel Suarez took the checkered flag in the 10th spot, putting five Team Chevy drivers in the top-10.
The Bowtie Brand also swept the weekend in Sin City. Kyle Busch drove his No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Silverado RST to the win in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday, while Austin Hill scored the NASCAR Xfinity Series victory on Saturday behind the wheel of his No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Camaro SS.
In the NASCAR Cup Series, three different Chevrolet teams have reached Victory Lane thus far in the season, with a total of five Chevy organizations scoring wins in the three NASCAR national series.
That's proof of the manufacturer's commitment to excellence across the board.
