When the C10 Nationals held its inaugural event at Texas Motor Speedway in May 2018, it was a fun, yet quaint show with lots of potential. Today that potential has been realized.

The program, officially called the ClassicParts.com C10 Nationals presented by Chevrolet Performance, now features three events across the country. On the second weekend in May this year, the flagship Texas edition of "America's Truck Event" celebrated its fifth gathering (there was no event in 2020). A record of nearly 2,000 full-frame, 1947 and up Chevrolet and GMC trucks, 4x4s and SUVs took over the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth.

This year in the Lonestar State, a Show-N-Shine truck show, autocross competition, donuts and drifting exhibition, dyno challenge, Friday night drag racing on pit road, and a Saturday afternoon burnout contest were among the highlights, complemented by both a vendor midway and truck corral and swap meet. A Ferris wheel also rose high above the action near the frontstretch.

Trucks filled the infield expanses and garages of the massive facility, with license plates representing dozens of states.

The burnout contest is always one of the event's most popular attractions, and in 2023, it was even punctuated by a marriage proposal just before one of the smoke shows. Trucks really can bring people together.

An awards ceremony on Saturday evening helped close out the event with dozens of awards and prizes on offer, along with multiple giveaways. An after-hours track cruise also allowed show participants to drive their vehicles on the track's high banks.

Despite a forecast that threatened rain on Saturday, both days of the two-day event turned out dry and clear. Even the Texas heat remained under control. A diverse crowd of participants and attendees was on hand each day with several languages filling the air.
