Inside HOT ROD Power Tour 2024

HOT ROD Power Tour celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024. Since its inception in 1995, the traveling car show has grown into a yearly extravaganza that attracts over 6,000 cars and trucks. Friendships are forged or renewed each tour, and many participants plan their annual vacations around the weeklong event that visits a different site each day.  
 
For many years, Chevrolet Performance has also been a major player in the festivities. 

This year’s HOT ROD Power Tour took place on the second week in June, with the five-day program kicking off on Monday at Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. From there, it was on to Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon Tennessee; Louisville, Kentucky’s L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium; National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio; and Brownsburg, Indiana’s Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, where the tour wrapped up on Friday.  
 
Along the way, participants showed off their vehicles at each venue, and some took to the autocross course or drag strip. As at every Power Tour, Long Haulers who made each stop received special recognition on the last day in Indianapolis.   

Modern and classic Chevrolet vehicles featured prominently during the week, as restored originals, unique engine-swapped rides and crate engine*-powered restomods dotted the land.

The Chevrolet Performance display and its staff were part of the event in a significant way; the Bowtie served as the Official Performance Parts sponsor of this year’s Power Tour. At each venue, the brand showed off its crate engines,* transmissions, Connect & Cruise Crate Powertrain Systems, vehicle upgrades, accessories and more. 
 
In addition, the team showcased a full complement of some of the Bowtie's best vehicles. Classic builds included a 1969 Chevelle powered by an SP502/605 crate engine,* a 1967 C10 with an L8P crate power plant* under the hood, and a ZZ632*-equipped 1989 Chevrolet Silverado 3+3 dually used for development purposes. All week, these concept vehicles† were some of the stars of the show. 
 
Meanwhile, crowds also flocked to the modern Chevrolet Performance fleet featuring a Corvette E-Ray, Corvette Stingray and a Tahoe RST Performance Edition, along with a slate of trucks including the Colorado ZR2 Bison, Silverado 1500 ZR2 and Silverado 2500 HD ZR2 Bison.
