On the final weekend in September, diehard General Motors enthusiasts stared down the remnants of Hurricane Helene and descended on Indianapolis for the Chevrolet Performance Bowtie Nationals.
A wide variety of Chevrolet and other GM vehicles were on display during the Indianapolis edition of the 2024 Bowtie Nationals.
The Friday-and-Saturday event at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park was the second on the Bowtie Nationals slate this year (the first was held at Bristol Motor Speedway in May). Also featuring the “GM Invasion,” each program is designed to celebrate not only Chevrolet, but GMC, Pontiac, Cadillac, Oldsmobile and Buick vehicles as well.
The Indianapolis event featured a Show-N-Shine show, autocross competition, dyno challenge, vendor midway and swap meet. On Saturday afternoon, an awards ceremony closed out the festivities. Unfortunately, Mother Nature washed out the weekend’s slated burnout contest, along with drag racing on the historic track that hosts the prestigious NHRA U.S. Nationals.
An extensive photo gallery from the wet but wide-ranging Indianapolis Bowtie Nationals is below.
