Keys to keeping your EV road-ready
Since EVs don’t have engines, there are fewer moving parts to be concerned about. But there are still a few things you should maintain regularly to ensure your EV is ready to roll whenever you are.
- Tire inflation, balancing and wear
- Brake pads and rotors
- Battery health
- Cabin air filters
- Coolant, brake and windshield washer fluids
When living an all-electric life, the overall health of your electric vehicle’s battery should always be top of mind. To help with that, here are a few easy things to remember:
- Charging your battery to 80% for daily use helps promote battery health and optimal regenerative braking performance
- For longer trips, you can adjust your charge above 80% for extended range
- Since DC Fast Charging slows down as the battery fills up, charging beyond 80% isn't recommended
- Keep your EV plugged in when possible to condition the battery for optimal performance
